The Open Source Podcast – Episode 4 | Bare Metal OpenStack for Data Backup and Disaster Recovery

As the OpenStack Summit Sydney comes to a close, we decided it was a good time to throw some more OpenStack content goodness your way. It goes without saying that Bare Metal OpenStack is on a growth trajectory, and of course, Data Backup and Disaster Recovery are crucial aspects of any organization’s toolkit. So, we decided to do a podcast on just those topics!
In this episode of The Open Source Podcast, we were joined by guest podcast host Stephen Spector, AKA The Social Merlin, to ask the questions of our panelists that get the most out of their knowledge and expertise.
This short and to-the-point episode goes into detail on why data backup and disaster recovery are important to customers, why OpenStack is the right option for these services, what DRaaS is and how to do disaster recovery with live migration from other platforms to OpenStack.
Have a listen below to this informative episode and we hope you enjoy!

Meet our distinguished panelists for this great episode:
Nick Smirnov – CEO and Founder of Hystax and disaster recovery expert as well as IT and software engineering veteran.
Denise Boehm – Senior Marketing Manager at Host-Telecom and open source enthusiast.
